A moment above
life's gravity.

We fly heroes over Lake Tahoe — survivors, first responders, and veterans — for a single, perspective-shifting flight. Nominate someone you love.

RENO · TAHOE · ALL AT NO COST TO THE HERO
Our Mission

We believe every hero deserves a chance to step outside the weight of their own story — even for an hour. Above the lake, the world gets quieter. Something opens.

Who Qualifies

Three kinds of heroes.

Nominations are open to anyone in these categories who lives in — or can travel to — the Reno/Tahoe area. Heroes may nominate themselves, or be nominated by a friend, family member, or organization.

Life-altering injury survivors

Those who have endured a life-altering injury and are rebuilding their lives with strength and grace.

First responders

Firefighters, paramedics, search-and-rescue, law enforcement — the people who run toward what the rest of us run from.

Military veterans

Those who served, and who carry both the gifts and the weight of that service home with them.

It Really Happens

Real heroes. Real flights.

Every story begins on the tarmac at Reno-Tahoe International. Every one ends with someone seeing the world a little differently.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does the hero need to live in Reno or Tahoe?

No — but they need to be able to travel to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport for the flight. We can help coordinate logistics with selected recipients.

Is there any cost to the hero?

None. The flight, the aircraft, the pilot's time — all of it is provided at no cost to the recipient.

Can I nominate myself?

Yes. Self-nominations are welcome and treated exactly the same as nominations from a friend or family member.

What happens if my nominee isn't selected?

We only fly a limited number of heroes each year. Those who aren't selected this year are encouraged to resubmit next year.

How long does the flight last?

Each flight is roughly an hour over Lake Tahoe with Grant Korgan, our pilot and co-founder. Friends or family can usually come to the hangar for the send-off.

Are you a registered nonprofit?

Yes. The Moment Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Reno, Nevada.

Know someone who needs the sky?

It takes five minutes to nominate them. It could change everything.
